SSE Wildcats

The Isle Of Wedmore Weetabix Wildcats Girl's Football Centre provides girls aged 5-11 from the Cheddar Valley with the regular opportunity to play football. Organised sessions deliver football in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls. More than 300 clubs have been established throughout England.

Weetabix Wildcats Girls’ Football sessions take place on a weekly basis after school and provide a safe environment where girls can try football for the first time. SSE and The FA hope the initiative will inspire participants to engage with football, meet new friends, develop fundamental skills, learn new things and create the foundation for a lifelong love of football.

The Isle of Wedmore Weetabix Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre is run in conjunction with Somerset FA.

The Centre is open on Wednesday's, 4.45 – 5.45pm on the MUGA at Wedmore playing fields and runs weekly during term times. All girls are welcome, with free taster sessions available and then £2.00 per session thereafter. Wear trainers/astros & shin pads, and  a drink in a named bottle.

Matt Coggins the centre’s organiser says ‘I am really excited about this new opportunity to setup a Weetabix wildcat centre at the Isle of Wedmore club. It is a great initiative to get more girls playing football and I like how the focus is on fun and making friends’.
